Born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Paul has been a civil litigator since graduation from Stetson’s law school in 1991.
Paul devoted much of his 30 years defending physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice cases in South Florida and throughout the state, from the panhandle to Key West. He represented hospital systems at the trial court level in several prominent Amendment 7 appellate cases including "Edwards v. Thomas," 229 So. 3d 277 (Fla. 2017).
He has also defended a wide variety of personal injury matters, insurance claims and general liability cases through trial.
He represented Plaintiffs with injury cases and insurance claims for five years. He has pursued medical malpractice, wrongful death, and personal injury cases in jury trials to verdict for Plaintiffs.
Paul has also represented medical professionals in licensing actions and healthcare clients in cases against state agencies. He has tried numerous cases before administrative law judges in Tallahassee. He has also participated in appeals and oral arguments.
He has experience handling premises and product liability cases, and property damage, P.I.P. and other insurance claims. He's also defended clients in employment claims and business disputes.
Paul brings decades of wide-ranging litigation experience, along with a positive and principled approach to the mediation process. He can truly understand the challenges and risks for both sides of a case. This perspective helps him and the parties efficiently address the issues and focus on resolving disputes.
